Our Branch is one of almost 40 across the UK that are affiliated to The Fly Dressers' Guild. So to be a member of our branch you need to become a member of the Guild. The Fly Dressers' Guild sets out to promote and encourage the art of fly dressing or fly tying. It is a not-for-profit organisation open to anyone interested in fly tying, whether a knowledgeable veteran, a novice or somewhere in between, new members are warmly welcomed. Our Branch sets out to provide that promotion and encouragement locally in the north west area. To visit the Fly Dressers' Guild web site click on the logo to the right.

The North West Branch now meets at the Timperley Village Club, WA15 7UT. We have an all year round programme of talks and demonstrations from guest speakers along with fly tying evenings where you can get help from the more experienced members. We also arrange fishing days out including friendly competitions with other branches. As a branch we also provide exhibition at various Game Fairs and Country Shows in support of the Fly Dressers' Guild.

Branch membership is open to anyone, especially those new to fly dressing, although you must also be or become a member of the Flydressers' Guild. (To visit The Flydressers' Guild web site click on their logo above.)

We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm. in the Timperly Village Club. The programme for these meetings is published on the 'Calendar' page. At these Tuesday evening meetings we either have a guest speaker or hold a fly tying evening. Our guest speakers will give specialist demonstrations and advise, some also bring along a "shop" with them. At our tying evenings our resident instructors demonstrate the tying of a selected pattern and then the members tie their own versions and can get assistance if required, these sessions are relaxed and informal affairs. We also arrange monthly fishing trips to stillwaters/reservoirs during the season. The programme varies each year, both the tying and fishing activities are selected from requests and suggestions made by the members.

We are a small branch with a friendly atmosphere, blending instruction with a social evening and we are keen to increase our membership and would love both novice and experienced fly tiers to come along regularly. The best way to find out more is to come along to one of our Tuesday evening meeting (on the 3rd Tuesday of every month). You may attend two such meetings at £5 per evening before committing to join. We hope to see you soon, please do explore our website to find out more about us and what we can offer you.

We as a branch participate in the Fly Dressers Guild Awards Scheme. The Bronze and Silver awards are run by the branch while the Gold is adminstered by the FDG itself. The branch had three accredited instructor/assessors, David Palmer, Eddie Wilkinson and Chris Watson.
